Sir Alex Ferguson is demanding Manchester United sign Arsenal contract rebel Samir Nasri.
The Daily Star says he has ordered Manchester United to land Nasri in a £22m deal before the club’s summer tour of America.
Ferguson is desperate to make the Arsenal star his fourth and final signing of the summer and take Manchester United’s spending over £70m.
United officials held talks with associates of Samir Nasri last week and are confident of a deal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to keep the Frenchman at the Emirates but is fighting a losing battle.
A source said: “United want to sign Nasri as soon as possible. He’s been a target for several months and the manager wants it all done and dusted before the trip to America.”
United are willing to hand Nasri a five-year-deal worth around £100,000-a-week, including huge bonuses if Fergie’s men can win the Premier League and Champions League.
