Gill convinced they are favourites for Arsenal ace Nasri

Manchester United feel they're favourites to land Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.

The Daily Star says United believe they are still in pole position to sign the in-demand midfielder, despite the extra competition for his signature.

But while manager Arsene Wenger remains reluctant to sell one of his best players to one of his biggest rivals, realistically his hands are tied.

The unsettled 24-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his contract and has already turned down a new five year deal worth in the region of £90,000-a-week.

A £20m bid from United would prove difficult to turn down, even though it would severely weaken Wenger’s squad.
