Rooney: Even at Everton I only wanted to play at Old Trafford

Wayne Rooney insists he's never seriously considered leaving Manchester United.

The United striker penned a new deal with United before Christmas after questioning the club's ambition.

But he told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I never thought of leaving Manchester United and England. I am very happy here and so is my family. I have no reason to leave.

"Old Trafford is a stadium that gives me the most beautiful feelings. Even when I was an Everton player, I was looking forward to playing away (there)."
