Danny Welbeck is set for an injury lay-off of up to five weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the 8-2 win over Arsenal.
The 20-year-old scored the opening goal of the game before pulling up short clutching his left leg.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed after the game the forward had pulled his hamstring, and will be sidelined for a month.
Ferguson told BBC Sport: “It is a loss for us and for England.
“Danny complained of a tight hamstring before he actually pulled it and we couldn’t get Hernandez on quick enough.
“It is a shame for Danny but it [his absence] will be around four to five weeks.”
