Park Ji-Sung close to signing a new deal at Manchester United, father claims

Park Ji-Sung's father believes that the Manchester United player is close to agreeing a new deal with the Premier League champions.

“I think both sides will be able to sign the new contract in early August, before the Premier League season kicks off,” Park Hyun-jong told The Korean Times.

“We first had discrepancies on the length of the contract terms, but it is now all settled."

He added: “Actually the two-year deal was initially proposed from our side.”

Regarding the 30-year-old’s salary, France Football has speculated Park would earn £5 million a year from his new deal, making him one of the highest paid players at the club.
