Chief David Gill is happy for the club to be part of Unicef.
Unicef remains the club's exclusive overseas charity and is joined by Manchester-based cancer charity, The Christie and Francis House children's hospice, as partners of the Manchester United Foundation.
Gill told the Telegraph: "We, like a lot of football clubs, understand the power of football and the power of our players to help. We are a relatively small businesses in terms of manpower, revenue etc, but in terms of our calling card we are huge.
"Unicef ticks all the boxes in terms of it's a worldwide brand, people know about it and recognise it. Also, clearly it's children. Footballers and our fans start as children. We have young players as children so we very much understand the importance of children in today's world and what they mean for the future."
