Manchester United tracking Birmingham keeper Butland

Manchester United are chasing young Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to The Daily Mirror.

The England Under-21 international, who is currently on his second loan spell at Cheltenham Town, was reportedly watched by United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele during a match at Rotherham.

It is also believed that Premier League rivals Arsenal have also recently watched the young shot-stopper.

Butland is yet to appear for the Blues first-team, but the 19-year-old has represented England at every level except the senior side.

Birmingham are thought to be expecting offers of around £3 million this summer for the hot prospect, with United the favourites for the youngster’s signature.

The Red Devils outlayed £17.8 million on David de Gea last June and had been rotating between the former Atletico Madrid man and Anders Lindegaard until the Dane's recent injury.
