Beckham: Man City no chance of winning title

David Beckham says current league leaders Manchester City have no chance of winning this year’s Premier League title.

Currently on post-season tour with the Galaxy in Asia, Beckham told reporters that he feels former club Manchester United will end up holding the silverware aloft this term and not their crosstown rivals who are currently five points clear at the top.

"I don't think Manchester City have a chance," Beckham said.

"This season they have got a good team and some good players, but Manchester United have more experience and know how to win a championship."

Giggs named in top 10 best ever Champions League players

Ryan Giggs has been announced as the sixth best player in Champions League history, according to the tournament’s official magazine.

The Welshman is the top Brit in the list of 50 that sees Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard in tenth, with former United players Paul Scholes and David Beckham also featuring in the top 20.

Giggs who lifted the trophy in 1999 and 2008 is the tournament’s oldest goal scorer and has scored in more seasons than any other player.

Topping the pile is Zinedine Zidane, whose volley for Real Madrid in the 2002 final will be remembered as one of the competition’s greatest ever goals.

Lionel Messi, two-time winner with Barcelona, follows in second place with Paolo Maldini, Xavi and Raul, the Champions League’s record goal scorer with 71, rounding up the top five.

Further down the order, Wayne Rooney (27) and Roy Keane (39) also appear for United with Chelsea’s Frank Lampard featuring at 48.

Beckham: I will buy an MLS club, hire Neville and then sack him!

David Beckham says he would love to purchase a Major League Soccer franchise, hire former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville as coach and then sack him.

The LA Galaxy star has a clause in his MLS contract that allows him to buy into a club once his playing days in North America are over and he has jokingly told MirroFootball it would be fun to bring in former defender Neville as the manager – and then get rid of him!

“I might hire Gary Neville as manager,” Beckham quipped. “And then fire him!”

Beckham eyeing future Man Utd role

David Beckham is keen to return to Manchester United in a front office role.

Becks says he would love to go back to Manchester United in a sporting director role.

Becks has seen Zinedine Zidane return to Real Madrid to take up an advisory and coaching post.

And when the LA Galaxy ace was asked about following former team-mate Zidane's lead he said: "I'd love to do that.

"The best memory of my career came in 1999, no doubt, when Manchester United won the treble.

"In my opinion, no club can repeat that feat."
