Man Utd may confirm Pogba deal this week

Manchester United are confident Paul Pogba will sign his new contract.

The Manchester Evening News says United expect to make Paul Pogba their first major summer signing.

Sir Alex Ferguson believes he has finally fought off competition from Juventus to secure the highly-rated French starlet on a long-term deal.

Pogba is out of contract at the end of the season - sparking a scramble among Europe's biggest clubs for his signature.

Italian giants Juventus looked set to lure him to Serie A until Ferguson stepped in.

The United manager has convinced Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola that the 19-year-old will become a key figure for the Premier League champions.

A contract has been agreed in principal and United hope to announce a four-year deal as early as this week.

Ferguson has loan plans for Will Keane

 Sir Alex Ferguson says they'll be loaning out Will Keane next season.

Keane scored four goals in that victory and Ferguson has also confirmed the England Under-19 star will go out on loan to gain valuable experience next season.

"Will is progressing the right way," said Ferguson.

"The lad is a good finisher and has good potential.

"He needs a bit of toughening up and next year we will possibly put him out on loan. That would be good for him."

Sir Alex Ferguson admits they're waiting on Paul Pogba to accept terms.

Terms have been agreed with the youngster's agent, now it just requires the 19-year-old to give the green light.

"The boy has great potential and he is at the right club," Ferguson told MUTV.

"He has to make that decision.

"We have agreed a deal with his agent. Now it is just down to the boy."

Man Utd offer new terms to Davide Petrucci

Manchester United are ready to hand Davide Petrucci a new contract.

The Mirror says United are handing young midfielder Petrucci a new three-year contract - to stop the Italian walking out.

Petrucci has been stuck in the reserves and could have left for a small fee in the summer if his current deal had expired, but he has now agreed new terms.

However, he may be loaned next season if he does not make the breakthrough to the first-team squad.

Amos targets Olympics spot

England U21 goalkeeper Ben Amos is keen on playing in the London Olympics.

Amos, 21, admits the presence of Joe Hart in the England team will limit his chances at international level, but he will be young enough to qualify for the Olympics, which is an under-23 tournament, although three over-age players are permitted per squad.

Amos told manutd.com: "With Joe Hart doing so well in the England team, potentially a candidate for the next captain of the team, chances might be few and far between in the future so the Olympics is a good opportunity to represent not just England but Great Britain at such a big event."

Man Utd administrative cock-up delays Andreas Pereira move

An administrative error at Manchester United means new signing Andreas Pereira won't be able to play competitive football until next season.

Voetbal International says documents from United detailing Pereira's housing and host family failed to be lodged in time to FIFA and so his release from PSV Eindhoven will not be rubberstamped until the market reopens at the end of the season.

Pereira can still train with United and play in friendlies.

Petrucci insists he wants Man Utd stay

Davide Petrucci insists he's happy at Manchester United.

Petrucci has quashed speculation regarding a possible return to Italy.

The midfielder is with his country's Under-21 side at the moment and informed Corriere dello Sport: "I have no regrets. Manchester was a great opportunity for me. I'm at one of the most important three or four clubs in the world. My goal is to play in the shirt of Manchester United."

Morrison demanding £30,000-a-week to stay with Man Utd

Ravel Morrison is demanding huge money to stay with Manchester United.

The Daily Mail says Morrison has stunned Manchester United by demanding £30,000 a week, despite the teenager making just three first-team appearances.

United have offered Morrison £12,000 a week - an amazing salary for someone so young - and while the player has denied rejecting a new offer, there is now understood to be an impasse. It is not clear if the £30,000-aweek demand includes bonuses.

But talks with Morrison's advisers have gone so badly United have reached a position where they would be prepared to let him go, even though he is rated the best player to come through the club's academy in years.

Ravel Morrison not interested in Manchester City move

 Ravel Morrison has revealed he has no interest in joining Manchester City.

Morrison, whose current contract is due to expire in the summer, has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium along with team-mate Paul Pogba.

 City were keeping tabs on the United duo, but Morrison isn’t interested in the switch, claiming he doesn’t plan to join Roberto Mancini’s side, and never has.

Morrison posted on Twitter: “Who ever [sic] keeps sayin don't move to m.city , m.city have never ones been in my mind and who every tells you I'm movin to the ignore them :)”

Ever since breaking into United’s Under-18 side as a 15-year-old, Morrison has been troubled by off-field problems and reports recently suggested Sir Alex Ferguson was ready to give up on the midfielder, despite rejecting a bid from Newcastle United.

Morrison, who turns 19 in February, is yet to make his Premier League debut, but has impressed in League Cup ties this season against Aldershot Town and Crystal Palace.

Norwich send De Laet back to Man Utd

Norwich City have sent defender Ritchie de Laet back to Manchester United.

The Belgian joined Norwich on a season-long loan deal in the summer, however he has been plagued by injuries which have limited him to just six league appearances.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert told the club's official website: "Ritchie has gone back to Manchester United.

"We thank Sir Alex Ferguson for loaning him to us and wish Ritchie well for the future and hope he goes on to have a successful career at Manchester United."

Joyce happy King joining Hull on-loan

Joshua King has joined Hull City on-loan for the remainder of this season.

The 20-year-old had his stint at Borussia Monchengladbach terminated in order to find another club where he can show off his speed and shooting prowess.

King joins the growing list of players with United connections at the KC Stadium, including another loanee in the shape of winger Robbie Brady, and will look to help fire Nick Barmby's Tigers to promotion.

"'Joshua's going out on loan again as he struggled to make an impact out there in Germany and that's the way it can be sometimes," explained Reserves coach Warren Joyce to ManUtd.com. "You can still learn from bad experiences."

Manchester United are disappointed with Ravel Morrison's apparent decision to leave.

The People says United’s youth coaches and some senior stars are understood to have been exasperated at Morrison’s attitude but he’s been given the benefit of the doubt because of his talent.

He was involved in a bizarre Twitter exchange last week when he denied he had stolen a watch belonging to Rio Ferdinand and also claimed there was “no contract offer to talk about” from United.

The early Champions League exit has hit the club financially and there are suggestions United have to tighten their belts rather than hand bumper new contracts to their young stars.

Michele Fornasier pleased with progress at Man Utd

Michele Fornasier is pleased with his progress at Manchester United.

The young Italian defender joined United three seasons ago and has progressed well through the youth system.

Fornasier admits he models his game on two Italian greats: "When I first arrived, it was Fabio Cannavaro as he'd just won the World Cup and was probably the best player from Italy. So it was him. If not, Paolo Maldini as well.

They are very tough defenders who are good with their feet as well, clever players - especially Maldini."

The teen also told manutd.com: "I like to head the ball a lot. I think I'm aggressive. Maybe I'm not the most technical player yet but I'm more aggressive."

Royal Antwerp chief Hofmans full of praise for Man Utd's Cofie on debut

Royal Antwerp chief Gunther Hofmans has praised Manchester United striker John Cofie after his debut on the weekend.

Cofie caught the eye off the bench, just days after joining Antwerp on-loan for the remainder of the season.

"Cofie has made an immediate impression," said Hofmans.

"He has an immediate assist to his name and was extremely threatening in the front third. And in his first game for a new club, we can only be satisfied with his performance.

"If he continues like this he'll prove a top signing."

Redknapp tells Morrison: Only way is down after Man Utd

 Jamie Redknapp has urged Ravel Morrison to think twice about leaving Manchester United.

The 18 year-old midfielder appears set to go after refusing to agree terms over a new deal with United.

Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail: "You might not have heard of Ravel Morrison, aged 18, but when I was at a function for Sportsmail’s Jeff Powell with Sir Alex Ferguson, he described the precocious midfielder as ‘the best I have seen at that age’. Now it seems he wants to leave. Is he getting the right advice? If he wants to leave for money, I urge patience. The only way is down for him from Manchester United."

Morrison hits back at Fergie by claiming he has NOT turned down a new deal at United

Ravel Morrison has risked a row with Sir Alex Ferguson by rejecting his manager's claims that he had refused to sign a new contract at Manchester United.

Ferguson claimed last week that the youngster has priced himself out of a new deal and that his agent was working to find him a new club. 

Newcastle had a £1million offer rejected for Morrison, 18, last week and Arsenal are set to join the race for the troubled United starlet. Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be interested.

Morrison, who has made three Carling Cup appearances, is out of contract in the summer and was thought to have turned down an offer from United that could be worth up to £15,000 a week.

But he insisted on Twitter that was not the case. 

'I have never 1s [once] turned down a contract off Manchester United,' he said. 

Morrison made his first-team debut in 2010 against Wolves and helped the Old Trafford club lift the FA Youth Cup last season. 

But the midfielder's growing list of off-the-field disciplinary problems, court appearances and absences have left Ferguson exasperated.

Hull boss Barmby admits Man Utd relationship a major bonus

Hull City boss Nick Barmby admits their relationship with Manchester United is a huge bonus for the club.

Robbie Brady's extended loan continues a prosperous recent relationship between City and the Premier League giants, one that dates back to Fraizer Campbell's loan at the KC in 2007-08.

Manucho, Cameron Stewart, Corry Evans and Brady have since joined on-loan from Old Trafford and that number could be swelled as City court youngster Joshua King.

Barmby, whose eldest son Jack is also part of Manchester United's youth set-up, admits it is a link-up to cherish.

"It's massively beneficial because you're talking about one of the best clubs in the world," he told the Hull Daily Mail.

"The way that they produce and develop their players, both on and off the pitch, rubs off on everyone else.

"They train well and are keen to learn. It's fantastic for us to have a relationship with someone like Man United, just as it is with Liverpool as well."

Saha urges Everton to buy Man Utd pair Diouf, Pogba after Gibson deal

Louis Saha wants manager David Moyes to keep going back to Manchester United for new signings.

Darron Gibson arrived from Old Trafford yesterday.

And Saha tweeted: "After Darren can we have Diouf and Pogba too?!? Just askin. Would be great too. Just sayin."

Mame Biram Diouf is available on-loan from United this month, while Paul Pogba is locked in a contract battle with the club.
