Qatar Royal Family linked with new Man Utd takeover offer

Manchester United are again being linked with a takeover offer from Qatar.

Reports claim the Qatari Royal Family are set to have another go at buying the Old Trafford outfit.

The Glazer family are believed to have snubbed previous interest from the mega-rich Middle East country, although with market conditions currently volatile, they may look more favourably on a deal now.

Man Utd get all clear to float on Singapore stock exchange

Manchester United have been given the green light to float on the Singapore stock exchange.

Permission was granted on Friday, so United are now free to open dialogue with potential investors.

Although precise details of United's plans are yet to be announced, it is thought the Glazer family are looking at selling 25% of the club, which they hope will net them £600million.

It has been suggested two-thirds of United's offering will be in preferred shares, which may carry at least double the dividend of ordinary stock while lacking voting rights.

That dual-share structure would allow the Glazer family to retain control of the football club after the IPO.

United this month posted a record full-year operating profit of £110.9million to June 30.

Ferguson: Welbeck back next week

Sir Alex Ferguson says Danny Welbeck could be available as early as next week.

Welbeck pulled up with a hamstring injury against Arsenal a fortnight ago.

"Danny Welbeck's back training now," continued Ferguson. "He could maybe be ready for the following week."

Lindegaard: Benfica saves show I am already improving

Anders Lindegaard says he knows he's improved since joining the club from Aalesund in January.

The Dane impressed in this week's 1-1 draw at Benfica.

"It was a fantastic experience, like a childhood dream coming true," he said. "The reflex save I made in the second half I would never have made while in Norway or Denmark. It just goes to show how much I am improving since coming to United. Alex Ferguson has helped me a lot. He said to me: 'Play the game, not the occasion' and it was exactly my approach to this game.

"There's only room for one goalkeeper in the team. We have a very good competition. We have two top goalkeepers and we have Ben Amos as well, who is a very promising young man. That's how it is in all positions at United and that's how it should be.

"I'm never going to complain about competition - it's tough. But I accept the manager's choice every time. He has proven he is the best manager in the world and I will always respect and accept his decisions.

"You can see so far I have not had many opportunities to show who I am, but this was one of them and it was a big game. It shows a bit about how good the competition is, it is not as clear as it was last year - who is first and who is second."

Revealed: Chicharito was PSV reject

Javier Hernandez is a PSV Eindhoven reject, reveals Pachuca chief Hans Westerhof.

The veteran Dutch coach recommended Chicharito to PSV while in charge of Chivas.

FC Twente striker Ola John has revealed he could have moved to Manchester United or Arsenal this season.

John is the kid brother of former Fulham striker Collins John and has been tracked by United for the past 12 months.

"At the moment I've extended my contract with FC Twente, I was interesting Manchester United and Arsenal. But I have chosen for my chances to remain with FC Twente.

"If I do really well, the chance to go to a big club will still come," John told De Telegraaf.

Ferguson impressed by Benfica winger Gaitan

Sir Alex Ferguson confessed his admiration for Nicolas Gaitan after last night's draw at Benfica.

United have been following the Argentine since his time with Boca Juniors.

"Gaitan played with intelligence and showed great individual skill," said Ferguson.

Only last week, United chief scout Martin Ferguson, Sir Alex's brother, also praised the Argentine, 23.

Manchester United are tracking Vitesse Arnhem's Brazilian twins Alex and Andre Santos.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson snapped up teenage twins Rafael and Fabio Da Silva from Fluminese three years ago and history could be about to repeat itself with the Santos brothers.

Sources in Brazil have indicated that United scouts are tracking the 19-year-old duo's progress and will continue to do so this season as they attempt to break into the Vitesse side.

The Sun says Pogba is wanted on loan by Burnley.

But he may have to wait until later this month with Reds boss Alex Ferguson promising Pogba a debut in the Carling Cup clash with Leeds next week.

Man Utd target Martin admits he can leave Sochaux at season end

Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin has opened the door to a move away to Arsenal.

Martin has penned a new deal with Sochaux amid interest from the Gunners and Manchester United.

Arsenal made enquiries for Martin last month, while he was scouted by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in action for France.

He told L’Equipe: "We had good talk and we found an agreement.

"The officials made a promise. Indeed, an agreement to let me leave. I will remain at Sochaux until the end of the season."
