Ferguson: Rooney now entering his peak years

Sir Alex Ferguson is expecting a stellar season ahead for Wayne Rooney.

Ferguson admits that Rooney is now approaching the most productive period of his career.

“Wayne is improving and maturing all the time,” Ferguson said.

“He is one of my mid-twenties players now and that’s the best spell for players — when they get to their mid-twenties, their maturity and authority, understanding and timing makes them even better.”
