Peter Lim, the Singaporean who lost out to John W Henry over Liverpool's bid aims to buy some stake in Man Utd.

Peter Lim is in talks with Manchester United about buying a major stake in the club.

The Sunday Mirror says United's owners have been in talks with Lim about buying a substantial stake in the club – a year after the Singapore-based billionaire tried to buy Liverpool.

The Glazers are set to launch a £600million Initial Public Offering on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

United chief executive David Gill met Lim last month to offer him the chance to purchase a chunk of the shares.

Lim had held talks with Liverpool – before losing out to John W Henry’s New England Sports Ventures.
