Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson faces a losing battle in landing Ajax star Christian Eriksen.
The young Dane is a big target for Ferguson, who he sees as a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes.
However, Eriksen has this week declared he favours a move to Spain over England and it's emerged his agent was in Barcelona this week.
Catalunya Radio reports Martin Schoots met with Barca sports director Andoni Zubizarreta to discuss Eriksen's situation. The midfielder's contract expires in 2013.
