Michael Keane and John Cofie set for Antwerp loan deals

Royal Antwerp have agreed to take Michael Keane and John Cofie on loan from Manchester United.

United and the Belgian outfit have an agreement dating back to 1998 that has seen Antwerp sign over 30 players from the Old Trafford club.

Keane has made appearances in both the League Cup and Premier League for the Red Devils this season, including in the 3-2 defeat to Blackburn Rovers last weekend, while Cofie is yet to feature in the first team since joining from Burnley in 2009.

Antwerp's sporting director, Gunther Hofmans, was quoted as saying by Sky Sports: "It is fantastic that we have in this way the collaboration with Manchester United, these guys are a gain for us and we are very happy with it.

"This gesture of United reflects renewed confidence and goodwill for the future."

He added: "They must also earn their places in the team.

"The trainer has a core of 25 or so players available, and the best will play."
